Introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Submariner, the reference 16610LV marked a significant milestone in the history of Rolex’s iconic diving watch. For the first time, Rolex departed from the traditional black bezel and fitted the model with a striking green aluminum bezel insert, creating what would become one of the most celebrated modern Rolex watches.

Quickly nicknamed “Kermit” by collectors after the famous Muppet character, the 16610LV retained the classic black Submariner dial while introducing the Maxi Dial, featuring larger hour markers and hands for enhanced legibility.

Powered by the reliable Rolex Caliber 3135 automatic movement and water-resistant to 300 meters (1,000 feet), the Submariner 16610LV remained in production until 2010. Its distinctive appearance, combined with a relatively short production run, has made it one of the most sought-after modern Submariner references among collectors.
