The GMT-Master was developed by Rolex in 1955 in collaboration with Pan Am Airways. The original model allowed pilots to simultaneously track two time zones, a crucial feature for the rapidly expanding commercial aviation industry. With the introduction of the GMT-Master II in the 1980s, Rolex perfected this function with a bidirectional rotating bezel system and an independent hour hand, allowing users to read three separate time zones.

While the original model is made of steel with a blue and red bezel insert, Rolex soon released a two-tone gold and steel version (Rolesor is the term Rolex uses for models combining steel and gold). Our model is part of this collection and features a brown and gold aluminum bezel insert, earning it the nickname "Root Beer." The Oyster bracelet is made of stainless steel and 18 ct yellow gold, perfecting the overall look of the watch. This combination has also been nicknamed the "Clint Eastwood," as the actor wore an earlier version.

What makes this piece exceptional, beyond its unique and inimitable look, is that it is in "untouched" condition, very rarely worn, and comes as a complete set with its original box and papers, from 2002.
