Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph 5270G - 125.000€

  • Patek Philippe’s perpetual calendar chronograph has long reigned as a cornerstone of haute horlogerie—and with the reference 5270G, that legacy doesn’t just continue, it evolves with poise and purpose. Introduced in 2011, the 5270 marks a pivotal chapter in the lineage: it is the first of its kind to be entirely powered by an in-house movement, the Caliber CH 29-535 PS Q—a marvel of engineering that marries tradition with modernity.

This reference proudly follows a royal bloodline that began in 1941 with the revolutionary ref. 1518—the world’s first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph. Then came the bold 2499, the refined 3970, and the muscular 5970, each bringing its own flair to the house style. With the 5270, Patek Philippe not only reaffirmed its technical independence but reinterpreted the design codes of its forebears through a contemporary lens.

The 5270G presented here is cased in 18k white gold, boasting a strong yet elegant 41 mm diameter—a clear departure from the more compact cases of previous generations. The silver dial features crisp baton indexes and balanced sub-dials: the chronograph minutes and leap year cycle at 3 o’clock, the chronograph hours and small seconds at 9, while the moon phase and date aperture sit at 6 o’clock, framed by the now-iconic dial “chin,” a subtle yet distinctive hallmark introduced with this generation.

Beyond the aesthetic harmony, the watch offers 21st-century functionality housed in a timeless form. Sapphire glass front and back allow full admiration of both dial and movement architecture. This model comes complete with box and papers, and is backed by a 36-month guarantee.

The 5270G isn’t just another link in the chain—it’s a bold, beautifully engineered declaration of Patek Philippe’s horological autonomy and creative evolution.
