Heuer Pre-Carrera Silver "Big Eyes" - 5.500€

  • The 1960s marked a golden era for Heuer chronographs, a period when the brand cemented its reputation among racing drivers and enthusiasts. Models like the Carrera, introduced in 1963, stood out for their clean, legible design and purposeful aesthetics inspired by motorsport. The Autavia and the Camaro also emerged during this decade, offering bold cases, reliable Valjoux movements, and a distinctive tool-watch character. These watches captured the spirit of speed, precision, and modernity that defined the era, making 1960s Heuer chronographs some of the most iconic and collectible vintage timepieces today.

This model is a pre-Carrera, which, as its name suggests, does not yet carry the Carrera inscription. The dial with two sub-dials is nicknamed “Big Eyes” due to the large size of the counters. This also gives it a superb visual impact, with both sub-dials being exceptionally easy to read.

The movement inside is the Valjoux 22, a column-wheel chronograph caliber, a legendary mechanism used by many top brands and synonymous with high-quality chronograph watches.

This watch is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a historical piece featuring a historical movement as well as unique and iconic aesthetic attributes, all for a very reasonable price. Of course with a three-year warranty.
