Heuer Monaco Vintage "Steve Mc Queen" - 11.000€
The Heuer Monaco is one of the most iconic chronograph ever produced, known for its bold design and rich motorsport heritage. It was first introduced in 1969 by the Swiss watchmaker Heuer (now TAG Heuer), and it immediately made headlines as the world’s first automatic chronograph with a square, water-resistant case.
Its most famous moment came in 1971, when actor and racing enthusiast Steve McQueen wore the Heuer Monaco in the film Le Mans. The watch he wore, with its striking blue dial and left-sided crown, became an instant legend and is now closely associated with McQueen’s image. This exposure cemented the Monaco’s place in pop culture and motorsport history.
The original model, reference 1133, housed the Calibre 11 movement, one of the first automatic chronograph calibers. Its avant-garde look, with sharp edges and a bold square case, set it apart from the predominantly round watches of the era. Although not a commercial success initially, the Monaco gained cult status in the decades that followed.
