Cartier Baignoire - SOLD

Cartier has always been known for putting the design of its creations into focus. Whether it is their jewelry, their clocks or their watches, each Cartier-signed object benefits from a unique and unparalleled design.

This "Baignoire" model is of course no exception to this rule. Its name is French for bathtub and we can immediately see why it got this name. Its rounded oval shapes bring elegance and femininity, in contrast to the traditional Tank which is rectangular. This is a design that was created by the house of Cartier in the late 1950s, and our model dates from the 1990s.

The case is made of 18ct rose gold, and is mounted on an alligator strap which has its Cartier buckle in 18ct rose gold as well. The dial has a rare "guilloché" pattern with a delicate pink hue which brings relief and contrast to the rounded case. The "sword" hands are, as it is often the case with Cartier, blued to perfectly match the cabochon sapphire set in the crown, inseparable from Cartier DNA.
